This week was our last computer lab class and the students were given a timed writing to see if their touch typing had any gains. I am happy to report that the student showed gains in their speed and their accuracy. For those students who did not show gains, I recommend that they practice typing over the summer in their spare time. Of course with parental guidance. Thanks for a wonderful weekly class of 30 minutes.

This week the Green Room students continued to work on their projects. A few students presented their projects on Lizards and Sea Turtles. Also we had a presentation or continuation on the Beetles (part II). If students completed their presentations, they were encouraged to work on their typing using typing.com (this program allows students to type paragraphs at different levels).
The Green Room has been working really hard on their presentations. The students started to present this week. Students' presentations were about the top artists, Eleanor Roosevelt, Lizards, fly fishing, sloths, pollution and mine craft. There were other presentations about "Somewhere", Tanzania, Makeup, and Emojis.
The Green Room students are working on their new MS PowerPoint presentations. It is so wonderful to see their creativity and their interest in so many things. I will post the new presentations here at the end of next week.
I must say this week in Computer Lab, the students are really doing an excellent job in creating presentations because they are actually remembering how to open a file, save a file and make great changes to their presentations. There is a presentation called SOMETHING, MAKE UP, TAZANIA, LIZARDS, POLLUTION, SLOTHS, FUNNY ANIMALS, TAYLOR SWIFT, and MINE CRAFT. It is truly a great day because the students have shown so much progress, to changing designs, adding different colors and features to their backgrounds, add TRANSITIONS and this week; we added SOUND.
This week the Green Room students continued to work on their individual projects in MSPowerPoint. Students are continuing to use correct touch typing keystrokes. If you see that your child may not be using the two-hand touch typing technique, please encourage to use this approach. The students are using their creativity in their projects as we work towards using different slide background features: solid filled, gradient, pattern, and filled with texture or an image.
This week the Green Room students learned how to change backgrounds in MSPowerPoint. They have learned three of the five different ways to change backgrounds other than using the pre-loaded Design formats. Students learned how to use solid filled, gradient, and textured. Next week they will learn how to fill with a picture and add patterns.
This week the Green Room students continued to practice the transitions on slides and animations on their text and images. Several students presented their PowerPoint presentations: about Cows, Internet Safety, The Tesla car, Michael Jackson, and there was a funny story about a Bunny's Adventure. It was so interesting and great to see how much they have learned. Next week more presentations and students applying new knowledge.
This week the Green Room learned how to add transitions and animations to their slides. Some of the students finished, their presentations and will be presenting next Wednesday. While most are still adding some more information to their slides.
The Green Room students did not have class this week due to the inclement weather.
