This week the students continued to work on their Author's Tea Stories. Most students completed their drafts and are now working on making revisions that Bina had done in Google Docs. It was quite impressive to see them use the comments that Bina gave to resolve or revise. Also, Bina sent a camera for students to take a photo of themselves for their stories. Students asked to go outside and many took some really good photos for their story. I taught the students how to download pictures from the camera to their computer. Students then uploaded their image file to their Author's Tea story's About Me page.

This week the students are using time in the Computer Lab to work on their Author's Tea stories and the data/graphs for their science fair projects. Some students are thinking about creating a gif image for their Author's Tea story's title page.
This week has been one where the students have created these absolutely fantastic gifs using Piskel App. The many creations included LEGO "like" blocks moving to a top of a hill, a growing rainbow tree, a dragon eating a space craft, a boy jumping over a rock, an exploding Mine craft village, Harry Potter sword fighting, a smiley face changing into a cactus. Other gifs included a rainbow forming over a cute pig, frighten cats, and a bunny eating a carrot. The students are working really hard on their projects for creating gifs (4) and will incorporate these into a (MPEG) movie file.
This week in the Blue Room, the students worked on a new project. This project is making image gif files using PiskelApp. Students will create accounts next week. The students are creating images and many are using great backgrounds with their gifs. After creating four or more gifs, the students will upload these images to a slide presentation. After creating the four to five slide presentation, students will download this file as a digital movie file.
The Blue Room students continued to work on their puzzles about Puerto Rico. I must say the students really captured the historical events, places and culture of the Puerto Rican people in their Google Drawings. After creating their Drawings, the students uploaded their Drawings into Jigsaw Planet. I will share some on the classroom board, in the hallway. January 8th - January 15th The students started their service project by creating a Google Drawing. Next week the students will continue to work on their Drawings and then upload the Drawings into a website called Jigsaw Planet.
This week we finally were able to present our Animal Presentations. We learned so much about various animals. First of all in the cat family: The Lynx, The Tiger, The Bob Cat and the Black Panther. We learned about the Golden Frog. It is very poisonous, the King Cobra, the Gaboon Viper and the Angora Rabbits. The students presentations are FANTASTIC. The features they are incorporating in their slides: using gif, videos, shapes, colorful backgrounds, borders. These are things we have learned and they are continuing to use.
Next week: Google Drawing and some students are having the chance to choose a topic and not have to meet criteria. Most seem to be looking forward to this project. |
